Legal Office

Named Company Secretary

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Legal Office for serving the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group).

 

Job Descriptions
  • To be named as company secretary for members of the HKMC Group responsible for all  company secretarial duties, and to advise on corporate governance matters;
  • To ensure compliance of statutory and regulatory filing and reporting matters, including compliance with the Companies Ordinance, the Insurance Ordinance and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements;
  • To be responsible for organising board meetings, committee meetings and shareholders’ meetings, including drafting of minutes, written resolutions and other related documents;
  • To prepare or to assist preparing directors’ reports, annual report, corporate governance report and other secretarial or general corporate documents; and
  • To conduct research on company secretarial and corporate governance matters.

 

Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years’ solid company secretarial and preferably general corporate experience, gained in insurance companies, financial institutions, major corporations or law firms;
  • Associate of HKICS or ICSA, preferably a degree holder in law, accounting or corporate governance;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word including Chinese word processing);
  • Attention to detail, mature and ability to work independently under pressure;
  • Good administration, co-ordination, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; and
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong Listing Rules is preferable but not essential.

 

Candidates with less experience may also be considered.

Assistant Manager / Associate (Legal Office)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Legal Office for serving the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group).

 

Job Descriptions
  • To perform legal research and updates in various areas of laws;
  • To prepare correspondences and legal documents;
  • To provide internal administrative support to the Legal Office; and
  • The employment will be on a contract basis subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder (with preference for LL.B. degree);
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience gained in law firms, legal department of financial institutions or corporate service provider;
  • Good drafting, analytical and presentation skills;
  • Mature, meticulous, responsible and able to work under pressure and tight timeline;

Operations 1 Department

Senior Manager (Valuation)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to provide in-house valuation-related service to the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group).

 

Job Descriptions
  • To devise and manage a system for valuation of residential properties and collaterals for the HKMC’s Mortgage Insurance Programme, Mortgage Purchase Programme, Reverse Mortgage Programme and Premium Loan Insurance Scheme;
  • To provide independent and professional advice on valuation and land related matters for Hong Kong properties in relation to the businesses of the HKMC Group;
  • To conduct research and analysis of Hong Kong properties;
  • To monitor and assess future outlook of Hong Kong property market so as to identify any potential market risk;
  • To assist in planning and execution of financial and operational strategy; and
  • To handle ad-hoc projects as and when required.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Surveying, Real Estate or related disciplines with relevant professional qualification such as Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in the General Practice Division, or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate post-qualification experience in valuation and research in Hong Kong property market, relevant experience in financial services is an advantage;
  • Solid knowledge in Hong Kong property market and relevant Ordinances / regulations;
  • Mature, meticulous, responsible and able to work under pressure, tight timeline and independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese with strong report writing and communication skills; and
  • Proficient in PC applications including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Risk Management Department

Assistant Manager (Operational Risk)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Risk Management Department for serving the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group).

 

Job Descriptions
  • To assist in devising and maintaining effective operational risk management framework and policies for the Corporation;
  • As the second line-of-defence to work with operational departments to ensure proper risk controls are put in place;
  • To support and prepare reporting and materials for the Operational Risk Committee of the Corporation; and
  • To conduct researches and participate in projects and tasks relating to operational risk areas.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Risk Management, Statistics, Finance, Business, or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in operational risk management or related fields;
  • Highly organised and self-motivated with strong sense of responsibility;

Intern (Financial Control)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Financial Control Department for serving the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group). The HKMC Group is now offering internship to undergraduates to equip them with practical work experience and general understandings of the industry. The internship is for a period of 9 months from April 2019 onwards.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To assist in preparation of quarterly costs allocation among the group companies under the approved transfer pricing mechanism;
  • To assist in automating the manual processes and revamping forecast models to cater for business developments of the HKMC Group; and
  • To perform any other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements

Intern (Operations)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Operations Department for serving the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group). The HKMC Group is now offering internship to undergraduates to equip them with practical work experience and general understandings of the industry. The internship is for a period of 9-12 months from January 2019 onwards.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To handle loan applications including follow up of documents for approval, preparation and checking of documents for loan drawdown;
  • To support loan administration functions, including loan modification, prepayment, security documentation, insurance administration and full prepayment requests from customers or solicitor firms for release of mortgage/ reassignment;
  • To manage loan files and document retention; and
  • To conduct financial calculation and data analysis with MS Excel and Access.

 

Requirements
  • Be a second or penultimate year students, major in Business, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines;
  • A quick learner and has good communication skills;
  • Attention to details with high degree of accuracy;
  • Self-motivated and proactive working attitude;

HKMC Annuity Limited

Senior Associate (System Analyst)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to assist in the operation of HKMC Annuity Plan (the Plan). The Plan is operated by HKMC Annuity Limited (HKMCA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and the individuals will be appointed directly by the HKMCA.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To provide support in systems development, release and production;
  • To assist IT Manager in IT projects and liaise with external vendors and internal counterparties;
  • To perform technical analysis and development by full stack technology in Java and other technologies; and
  • To handle other ad hoc projects and other duties as required.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Computer Science or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT application development, preferably in life insurance industry;
  • Solid experience in full stack Java technology and web development;
  • Experience in workflow BPM, RPA, BI tools is an advantage;
  • Good team player, proactive with problem solving skills; and
  • Able to work under pressure and tight schedule.

Senior Account Officer (Application Servicing Centre)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to assist in the operation of HKMC Annuity Plan (the Plan). The Plan is operated by HKMC Annuity Limited (HKMCA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and the individuals will be appointed directly by the HKMCA.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To deliver educational seminars to general public to raise awareness of retirement financial needs;
  • To develop and produce educational seminar presentation materials, handouts and other related deliverables;
  • To provide life insurance application service to customers;
  • To follow up with pending applications and perform other administrative duties as required in the application process; and
  • To perform other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned from time to time.

 

Requirements
  • Tertiary educated with a minimum of 3 years' sales or customer service experience in life insurance industry;
  • Insurance Intermediaries Qualification Papers 1 & 3 is a must;
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with hands-on experience in seminar or training delivery is preferable;
  • Customer oriented, responsible and self-motivated; and
  • Good command of spoken Mandarin, English, and Cantonese.

Analyst (Actuarial)

Job Descriptions
  • To conduct actuarial valuation and financial reporting;
  • To perform experience studies;
  • To assist in the development of actuarial financial modelling;
  • To support in the development of policy administration system and perform user acceptance test; and
  • To handle ad hoc actuarial and risk projects and other duties as required.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics or related disciplines;
  • 1 year actuarial working experience in life insurance industry is desirable;
  • Proficient in MS Excel, knowledge of visual basic is an advantage;
  • Proactive, adaptive, attention to details and eager to learn; and
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

HKMC Insurance Limited

Manager / Deputy Manager (SME Financing Guarantee Scheme – Product Development)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to assist in the operation of a SME Financing Guarantee Scheme (the Scheme). The Scheme will be operated by HKMC Insurance Limited (HKMCI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and the individuals will be appointed directly by the HKMCI.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To assist in coordination of an IT project with respect to the SME Financing Guarantee Scheme (“SFGS”);
  • To manage and maintain effective communication with external counterparties and internal departments on the development of the SFGS;
  • To assist in seminars and training sessions offered to participating lenders and SME associations; and
  • To participate in ad hoc duties or projects.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Project Management or related discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years' solid experience in SME or commercial lending with reputable Authorized Institutions;
  • Attention to details, high degree of accuracy, able to work independently, under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Self-motivated, proactive working attitude, eager to learn and willing to take up new responsibilities;
  • Strong analytical, organising and communication skills and management capability;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and

  • To assist vetting of guarantee applications under the SME Financing Guarantee Scheme;
  • To review application documents, input and verify application data;
  • To support treasury operations and settlements for all bond issuance, treasury and hedging activities, including payment execution and reconciliation;
  • To conduct financial calculation and data analysis with MS Excel and MS Access;
  • To provide documents management services;
  • To participate in ad hoc duties or projects; and
  • The employment will be on a contract basis subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline;
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in commercial banks or financial institutions;

Job Descriptions
  • To be responsible for full range of secretarial duties and provide administrative support to the Operations Department;
  • To plan and coordinate business meetings, prepare reports, presentation materials and correspondences, arrange business travel, training and inter-departmental logistics; and
  • To organise and maintain systematic filing system and take part in functions / events and perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in BBA or related discipline would be an advantage;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ secretarial and administrative experience in major organisations, preferably gained in financial or banking industry;
  • Mature, self-motivated, patient, cooperative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Well-organised, attentive to details, ability to work independently and under pressure;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing); and
