Established in March 1997, the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC) is wholly owned by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government through the Exchange Fund. The missions of the HKMC are to promote stability of the banking sector, wider home ownership, development of the local debt market and development of the retirement planning market.

 

The HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group) engage in asset purchase, mortgage and insurance business in Hong Kong and operate in the market on the basis of prudent commercial principles. Legal Office

Assistant Manager

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Legal Office for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • As part of the company secretarial team for members of the HKMC Group responsible for company secretarial duties, to handle and advise on corporate governance matters with minimal supervision
  • To ensure compliance of statutory and regulatory filing and reporting matters, including compliance with the Companies Ordinance, the Insurance Ordinance and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
  • To be responsible for organising board meetings, committee meetings and shareholders' meetings, including drafting related documents and taking meeting minutes
  • To prepare or to assist preparing directors' reports, annual report, corporate governance report and other secretarial or general corporate documents
  • To conduct research on company secretarial and corporate governance matters

 

Requirements
  • A minimum of five years' solid company secretarial and preferably general corporate experience, gained in insurance companies, financial institutions, major corporations or law firms
  • Associate of HKICS or ICSA, preferably a degree holder in law, accounting or corporate governance or relevant disciplines
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word including Chinese word processing)
  • Attention to detail, mature and ability to work independently under pressure
  • Good administration, co-ordination, interpersonal, communication and organisation skills
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong Listing Rules is preferable but not essential

Marketing and Business Development Department

Assistant Vice President (Loyalty Programme Management)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Marketing and Business Development Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To develop the membership programme to enhance members’ loyalty and customer experience;
  • To manage the membership programme and oversee the daily operations of the service and on-site facilities for its members;
  • To develop and manage customer interface channels, including digital platforms; and
  • To organise events, educational and lifestyle activities.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder or above, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Hotel Management or related disciplines;

Operations Department

Senior Associate / Associate (Process Management and Systems)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Operations Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • To participate in designing, developing and testing application systems to support loans & credit guarantee operations, credit management, treasury operations, business transactions and monitoring of asset quality;
  • To design and construct ad-hoc data mining, analysis and reporting;
  • To recommend and implement new processes, business process reengineering initiatives, operational risk mitigation and maintenance of policy & procedural manuals; and
  • The employment will be on a contract basis subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Information Systems, Management, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, a higher degree is an advantage but not essential. Candidates with dual degree in business and IT would be preferred;
  • Solid knowledge and experience in banking products, system development cycle and UAT would be an advantage;
  • Attentive to details, high degree of accuracy, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • A team player with positive thinking;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
  • Strong skills in SQL Server Reporting Services, MS Access and MS Excel.

 

Candidate with less experience will be considered for the position of Associate.

Risk Management Department

Assistant Manager (Risk-based Capital Regime)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Risk Management Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Support the set-up and implementation of risk-based capital regime;
  • Conduct various assessment and analysis under the regulatory requirements;
  • Monitor the implementation progress and maintain close dialogue with other departments; and
  • Conduct research to keep abreast of regulatory requirements and best market practices.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder preferably in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent;

  • To supervise junior staff handling post-approval guarantee and loan administration under the SME Financing Guarantee Scheme ("SFGS"), including processing and verification of reports and statements submitted by participating lenders, reconciliation of fund flows with counterparts, etc.;
  • To support preparation of MIS reports and document management services;
  • To support ad hoc projects; and
  • The employment will be on a contract basis subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline;
  • A minimum of 3 years' solid experience in SME lending with reputable Authorized Institutions;

  • Some experience in commercial banks or financial institutions is preferred, but fresh graduates will also be considered;
