Established in March 1997, The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC) is wholly owned by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government through the Exchange Fund. The missions of the HKMC are to promote stability of the banking sector, wider home ownership, development of the local debt market and development of the retirement planning market.

 

The HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group) engage in asset purchase and servicing, general insurance (including mainly mortgage insurance, reverse mortgage and SME financing guarantee businesses) and life insurance businesses in Hong Kong, and operate in the market on the basis of prudent commercial principles. Administration and Human Resources Department

Placement Trainee (Administration and Human Resources)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Administration and Human Resources (AHR) Department for serving the HKMC Group. The candidate will gain on-the-job experience across various AHR functions, as well as training and learning opportunities for career development in the field.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Assist in the recruitment process, and facilitate the onboarding logistics of new employees;

Information Risk Management Department

Manager (Information Risk Management)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Information Risk Management Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Assist in developing information security strategy, policy and guideline;
  • Provide information security guidance to business and technical teams;
  • Participate in risk assessment engagements for new or existing IT initiatives and operations by evaluating the security architecture and conducting threat modelling;
  • Apply expertise and problem-solving skills to tackle cybersecurity challenges that span multiple technologies and security domains;
  • Participate in security incident response and investigation; and
  • Research and evaluate latest security threats and technology solution, such as AI, cloud, big data and mobile.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant disciplines;
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in information technology, information security, risk management, compliance or IT audit function, preferably gained from banking or financial institutions;
  • Holder of professional certificates such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent;
  • Sound knowledge in security architecture, regulatory requirements, industry’s standards and best practices; and

Infrastructure Financing and Securitisation

Temporary Portfolio Specialist

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Infrastructure Financing and Securitisation (IFS) Division for serving the HKMC Group. On a full-time basis, the candidate will support the risk and portfolio management functions of the IFS Division.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Undertake responsibilities over the loan portfolio including periodic monitoring and reporting, early actions on credit deterioration, and stress tests;
  • Organise and assist in investment committee meetings and processes;
  • Conduct ad hoc research or studies relevant to the development of the business portfolio from a risk governance perspective; and
  • The employment will be on a 6-month contract basis.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder, preferably in Risk Management or Finance-related disciplines;
  • At least 8 years' experience in renowned institutional banks, institutional investors or advisory firms in one or more of the following disciplines: project advisory or financing; corporate lending or restructuring; risk management; or related discipline in infrastructure financing or investment;
  • Experience in credit assessment is a must;
  • Experience and knowledge in securitisation and risk governance would be an advantage;
  • Strong analytical and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Ability in handling complex transaction structure and documentation is preferred;
  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities; and
  • High proficiency in English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua or other languages is an advantage.

Manager (Corporate Communications)

Job Descriptions
  • Support the development and implementation on corporate communications strategies to enhance the corporation’s image;
  • Facilitate communications with stakeholders across the Government, Legislative Council and institutional bodies;
  • Handle media enquiries, arrange press briefings and interviews;
  • Prepare communications materials including press releases, PowerPoint and line-to-take;
  • Monitor and analyse the corporation's media exposure and market news;

Requirements

Operations Department

Deputy Manager (Operations)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Operations Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Supervise the operational staff to perform loan origination, administration and enforcement duties for mortgage loan;

  • Supervise the operational staff to monitor the performance of appointed services and agents;
  • Prepare management statistics and reports;
  • Provide support on ad hoc tasks and projects; and
  • The employment will be on contract basis subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent;

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in mortgage loan operations;
  • Experience in loan origination, reverse mortgage operations and enforcement would be an advantage;
  • Good command of spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua will be an asset;
  • Strong PC skills in MS Excel and MS Access; and
  • A team player with positive thinking.

 

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Assistant Manager.

Associate (Operations)

Job Descriptions
  • Participate in designing, developing and testing application systems to support treasury, loans and credit guarantee operations, credit management, business transactions and monitoring of portfolio quality;
  • Support operations and settlement for treasury activities;
  • Design and construct ad hoc data analysis and reporting;
  • Recommend and implement new systems and processes, undertake business process reengineering initiatives, and maintain procedural manuals; and
  • The employment will be on a 1-year contract term, subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in Information Systems, Management, Finance or related discipline, a higher degree is an advantage but not essential.  Candidates with dual degree in business and IT would be preferred;
  • A minimum of 1 year of business analyst experience in banking industry or related discipline would be preferred;
  • Solid knowledge in banking products, system development cycle and UAT would be an advantage;
  • Self-motivated, proactive working attitude, eager to learn and willing to take up new responsibilities;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
  • Proficient in computer operation, including MS Word and MS Excel, and with knowledge of MS Access or SQL considered an added advantage.

Job Descriptions
  • Formulate and maintain enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks and policies for the HKMC Group;
  • Implement ERM governance, standards and procedures;
  • Prepare risk management reports to risk committees; and
  • Conduct research to keep abreast of regulatory requirements and market practices.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline;
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in risk management function of financial institutions or insurance companies;

  • A minimum of 6 years’ working experience in special assets management of commercial lending or corporate restructuring / insolvency at any international accounting firm;

  • Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, and provide support for matters in relation to the administration of various loan guarantee schemes;

Requirements
