Established in March 1997, The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC) is wholly owned by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government through the Exchange Fund. The missions of the HKMC are to promote stability of the banking sector, wider home ownership, development of the local debt market and development of the retirement planning market.

 

The HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group) engage in asset purchase and servicing, general insurance (including mainly mortgage insurance, reverse mortgage and SME financing guarantee businesses) and life insurance businesses in Hong Kong, and operate in the market on the basis of prudent commercial principles. Operational and Technology Risk Department

Assistant Manager (Operational Risk Management)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Operational and Technology Risk Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Formulate and maintain operational risk management (ORM) frameworks and policies for the HKMC Group;
  • Implement ORM governance, standards and procedures;
  • Prepare ORM related reports to risk committees; and
  • Conduct research to keep abreast of regulatory requirements and market practices.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline;
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in operational risk management function of financial institutions or insurance companies;
  • Detail-oriented, strong analytical and communication skills with good command of written English;
  • Good understanding of local regulatory requirements relevant to operational risk management in the financial industry;
  • Hands on experience in compiling risk management report and presentation is preferred; and

Information Technology Department

Senior Associate (System Analyst)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Information Technology Department for serving the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Analyze, design, and implement complex application systems, including documentation and production support;
  • Conduct system analysis to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions;
  • Assist IT Managers on projects and liaise with external vendors and internal teams;
  • Proactively research, learn and apply new technologies to enhance our development process;

Requirements

Infrastructure Financing and Securitisation

Placement Trainee (Infrastructure Financing and Securitisation)

Job Descriptions

Manager (Channel Development)

Job Descriptions
  • Implement business development projects to expand existing distribution channels and devise effective B2B business collaboration platforms for HKMC products including ‘HKMC Retire 3’;

Treasury Department

Manager (Treasury)

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the Treasury Department to serve the HKMC Group.

 

Job Descriptions
  • Perform Asset-Liability Management (ALM) by monitoring and managing different risk exposures, including interest rate, basis, maturity mismatch, liquidity and FX risks;
  • Assist cash & liquidity management and investment management of fixed-income portfolios;
  • Execute treasury transactions including interest rate swap and cross currency swap, money market, fixed-income investing and FX;
  • Work closely with Funding & Investor Relations Team for supporting the debt issuance activities;
  • Support scenario, sensitivity, simulation and trend analyses for ALM portfolio re-balancing;
  • Conduct macro-economic and market researches to facilitate strategy formulation and keep up-to-date market development;
  • Liaise with IT to support and implement Treasury management system development, customisation and upgrade to drive process automation; and
  • Provide support for ad-hoc projects of systems and process enhancements.

 

Requirements
  • Degree holder in relevant discipline (preferably in Finance & Economics), a higher degree or related professional qualification such as CFA or FRM is an advantage but not essential;
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in bank or corporate treasury with strong knowledge in financial market;
  • Solid treasury products knowledge in MM, FX, swaps, derivatives and fixed-income; 
  • A competent team player and self-starter to work independently with strong analytical mind and sense of duty;
  • Personally organised with high level of deliberation;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with excellent written, oral and presentation skills in English and Chinese;

Job Descriptions
  • Monitor the quality of debt recovery actions, including pursuing legal remedies against defaulted borrowers and personal guarantors, carried out by participating lending institutions;
  • Support the coordination and facilitation of debt workouts, and assess debt workout or repayment proposals for completion in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Perform due diligence review and reconciliation of claim amounts and assess requests for reimbursement of debt recovery expenses from the participating lending institutions;
  • Provide supervisory support for team operations, formulate, review and fine-tune work procedures and guidelines and augment team capabilities and improve the quality, efficiency, and precision of team operations by leveraging technologies from time to time;
  • Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, and provide support for matters in relation to the administration of various loan guarantee schemes;
  • Undertake ad hoc assignments and projects assigned from time to time; and
  • The employment will be on a 2-year contract term, subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 6 years’ working experience in debt collections for commercial or SME lending or corporate restructuring / insolvency at any international accounting firm;
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, self-motivated, positive work attitude, detail-minded, organised, good at teamwork and excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese; and

  • Support formulation of internal operating procedures and process re-engineering exercises;
  • Conduct financial calculation and data analysis with MS Excel and Access;
  • Provide administrative support to the department, including document management and digitisation works;
  • Undertake ad hoc assignments and projects assigned from time to time; and
  • The employment will be on a 1-year contract term, subject to renewal.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 3 years' solid working experiences in commercial or business banking, experience in handling SFGS application is an added advantage;
  • Knowledge in SME lending practices, Government loan guarantee products, regulatory requirements, accounting principles and financial statement analysis and able to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, self-motivated, positive work attitude, eager to learn and take up new responsibilities, detailed-minded, high degree of accuracy, organised, good at teamwork and excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Excel; capable to apply advanced formulas, perform data analysis, create and manipulate pivot tables and knowledge in MS Access are added advantages.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Senior Associate.

Senior Associate

We are looking for high-calibre individuals to join the SFGS Operations for serving the HKMC, its subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings (the HKMC Group).

 

Job Descriptions
  • Provide all-rounded secretarial and administrative support to SFGS Operations department;
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external meetings, handle meeting materials, prepare reports, presentation materials and correspondences, arrange business travel, expenses reimbursement, training and inter-departmental logistics;
  • Organise and maintain systematic filing system (including electronic files), order and track office supplies and inventory; and
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience gained from reputable financial institutions or public sector entities;
  • Mature, patient, self-motivated, cooperative with effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Highly conscientious, i.e. reliable, organised, detail-oriented, striving for high-quality work, meeting obligations and ability to work independently and under pressure;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including both Cantonese and Putonghua); and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe products and Chinese word processing.
